Hello I’m Alice, welcome to my page!
I am 31 years old, I am Autistic, ADHD (AuDHDer) and PDA. I am also parent to two neurodivergent children.
I was late diagnosed as autistic in my mid-twenties, only after one of my children got their diagnosis and everything suddenly all made sense. I had found the answers I had been searching for all my life.
I have recently received an ADHD diagnosis and identify as PDA.
Alongside my work I have authored three picture books around positive autistic identity. An article on my first book can be found in the first edition of Autistic revolution magazine.
I have also worked with and supported neurodivergent children, adults, parents and relatives in a variety of other roles and settings in the past.
I have experience as an Autism lead for my local parent partnership and was Co-chair of my local authorities Autism board for 3 years. I have provided 1-1 support for children in nurseries, worked as a emotional support helpline worker for an autism charity, a childrens centre volunteer, an outreach worker for a adult autism service and carried out SEN course facilitating.
I do consultant work with a variety of individual professionals, services, organisations and charities. I provide advice, lived experience insight, up to date neuro-affirming information and signposting. Previous consultant work I have carried out has included: input and adaptations to medical appointment letters, website neurodiversity resources, NHS leaflets, Courses and more.
Through my Neurodiverse Journeys social media pages I share my own personal experiences, including the day to day joys and struggles of living in a neurotypical world as a neurodivergent individual and parent to neurodivergent children.
I signpost upcoming courses and webinars, share insightful articles and content from the neurodivergent community.
I run an online community support group for parents and relatives of ND children, called through the looking glass. It is a space that resources, strategies, insights and services are shared, as well as being a space people can talk freely and share their journeys, gain validation and support from others.
The 1-1 sessions are individually tailored to you. I coach all neurotypes, but I specialise in the neurotypes autism and adhd, as this is my personal lived experience. I support neurodivergents, parents/relatives of an ND children and professionals. I understand that formal diagnosis is a privilege, self-diagnosis and questioning neurodivergence is completely valid here.
The support and environment I provide clients is neuro-affirming, which means I celebrate yours and/or your child’s differences. I feel that neurodivergents should not be measured by or encouraged to adapt to neuro-normative (neurotypical) standards. I believe all neurotypes should be nurtured, embraced and celebrated.
